Dear Friends,

The idea to start up the first 'Arab Women News' database through a website first began in 2005 by the editor in chief Khaled A. Taki PhD.

The project's implementation was set in motion during June 2005, as a means of bringing together all Arab females who represent half of the human resources of the Arab World who are in fact women.

The Arab Women News aim is to "Empower Arab Women in the 21st Century" by providing them with an effective channel of communication coupled with a database in order to assist in research and serving as a nucleus towards the realization and dissemination of the news which are rarely reported in other media.

The idea is original, genuine and has a lot of its merit value. Today, the Arab women news celebrates its 5th anniversary since the idea began. It is a very well focused news service, based on a solid rationale, its inputs and outcomes are certain and achievable as you can see from the daily upgrading of the news.

Arab women news addresses major issues concerning the development of the Arab women in the Arab world, including the urgent need for the active participation of Arab women to reach the national development goal.

What really counts is the participation of the Arab women in our news agency because for all intensive purposes, every Arab women wherever she may be around the world can in fact be the Arab women news reporter and we encourage each and every one to send us any news about Arab women including activities being held by women associations or organizations.

These activities can be social, cultural, political, human rights, and also personal. If you know of a case which has damaged in any way an Arab woman and violated her rights, we would like to hear about it.

It is important to make it clear that the Arab women news is solely funded by its share holders, the major share holder being Dr. Khaled A. Taki, and it is not influenced by any outside party.

We also try to fund our daily maintenance cost through advertising which is available on both sides of the pages, be it on the home page or on the inside pages. If you think that your organization, your own company, your husband's or brother's company may be interested in advertising with us, then please contact our sales department and we would appreciate any and all assistants.

Arab women news does accept grants and/or donations made by individuals. However, any and all grants or donations must not have any strings attached to it for it is the independence of the Arab women news. com that we will guard and insist that it be maintained always.

إن فكرة إنشاء قاعدة بيانات "أخبار المرأة العربية" عبر موقع إلكتروني بدأت أولاً عام 2005 مع رئيس التحرير الدكتور خالد أحمد تقي.

تم البدء بتطبيق المشروع خلال شهر حزيران(يونيو) من العام 2005 وذلك عبر تجميع معلومات حول النساء العربيات اللواتي يمثلن نصف الموارد البشرية في العالم العربي التي هي في الواقع من النساء.

ويهدف موقع أخبار المرأة العربية إلى "تمكين المرأة العربية في القرن الواحد والعشرين" من خلال منحها قناة فعالة للتواصل ترتبط بقاعدة بيانات بهدف المساعدة في البحث وبصفتها نواة لتحقيق ونشرالأخبار التي نادراً ما تتناولها وسائل الإعلام.

إن هـﺫه الفكرة فريدة في نوعها ولها قيمتها الذاتية المميزة. واليوم يحتفل موقع أخبار المرأة العربية بذكراه الخامسة منذ بدأت الفكرة. وهو خدمة أخبار مركزة جيداً مبني بعناية وقائم على أسس متينة، وإن مدخلاته ونتائجه مؤكدة وممكنة كما ترون من تحديث الأخبار يومياً.

ويسلط المشروع الضوء على مسائل مهمة تُعنى بتقدم المرأة العربية في العالم العربي مع بروز الحاجة الملحة لمساهمة المرأة لبلوغ هدف التنمية الوطنية.

ما يهمنا فعلاً هو مشاركة النساء العربيات في وكالة الأخبار الخاصة بنا ولأنه عملياً كل امرأة عربية أينما كانت حول العالم يمكنها في الواقع أن تكون مراسلة إخبارية لأخبار المرأة العربية ونشجع كل امرأة عربية على إرسال أية أخبار تتعلق بالنساء العرب بما في ذلك النشاطات التي تقيمها الرابطات والمنظمات النسائية.

يمكن أن تكون هذه النشاطات اجتماعية، ثقافية، سياسية، إنسانية، وأيضاً شخصية. وإذا كنت تعرف عن أي قضية آذت بأي شكل من الأشكال امرأة عربية وانتهكت حقوقها، نود أن نعرف بذلك.

من المهم أن نوضح أن أخبار المرأة العربية تمول فقط من قبل أصحاب الأسهم فيها، التي يملك الدكتور خالد أ. تقي الحصة الأكبر منها، وهي غير مرتبطة بأية أطراف خارجية.

ونحن نحاول أيضاً تمويل تكلفة الصيانة اليومية عبر الإعلانات المتوفرة على كلي جانبي الصفحات، سواءً في الصفحة الرئيسية أو في الصفحات الداخلية.

إن أخبار المرأة العربية يقبل المنح و/أو التبرعات المقدمة من قبل الأفراد. بيد أن كل المنح والتبرعات لا ترتب علينا ولا تلزمنا بشيء لأننا نحمي ونصر على المحافظة دائماً على استقلالية موقع أخبار المرأة العربية.
